Childcare Business Support

Who are we and how can we support you?

We are The Childcare Business Support Team, funded through Powys County Council’s Children and Young People’s Partnership to provide business support to childcare organisations across Powys.

We work with all childcare providers to mentor and advise and carry out a “business health check”, which looks at all aspects of how you run your service from training to funding and staffing to policies and procedures. We are then there to provide any additional support, training or samples of paperwork, etc that you need to help your setting develop. We use the nationally recognised PQASSO quality system as a basis for our work. All groups will be able to undertake the PQASSO quality award if they so wish in addition to the support we provide.

We look to provide a minimum of two visits to your setting per year – one to meet the staff and another to meet the committee and support with managing staff, governance, budgets, marketing and policies and procedures to name a few. However, if you need additional support, we can provide it from applying for grants to re-structures.

In addition, we will provide a number of training days and evening training sessions across Powys – please don’t hesitate to contact us if there is a specific topic you would like us to cover, and we will see if we can include this. We can also provide training just for your setting and will tailor make it to your needs. Popular sessions include team building and committee skills.
