Strike Strike Strike Out Out Out

What with all the strikes and the pressures getting to boiling point for our NHS Nurses over their pay and working conditions in being short staffed and working long days every day, let’s just spare a thought to our Social Care teams who have been trying to survive for years on low pay, lack of staff and working long days. Health Care assistants typically earn £7k more per year than frontline staff in Social Care.

Although Welsh Government have confirmed a budget that supports Real Living Wage from June 23 (why not April 23, or even Oct 22 when the RLW actually changes) to support and protect frontline social care staff, it’s still not enough.

Do you see frontline social care staff walking out to make their point, no they just keep trying to support citizens as best they can. Good on them.
